About us
A place for women with triple negative breast cancer to share information. Our Story
Im a 34 year old mum of 3 who recently was diagnosed with BC. To add to that we discovered there was no hormonal involvement, hence the triple negative status. There is not alot of information out there in regards to TNBC, so I thought a group just for us would be a nice way to share our ups and downs, and show support for each other along the 'journey'.
Triple Negative
Hi Ladies,
I am 43 and went through BC last year. I had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed - thankfully it wasn't in any of them. It was a 3.5 cm tumour that just seemed to come out of nowhere.
The Triple Negative diagnosis was a little scary to start with but I have learnt more about it now and it is not that bad!!
waiting for surgery
Hi, my name is Sonia and I was diagnosed with triple negative BC just over a week ago. My masectomy is booked for 2 weeks from today and I'll be having a tissue expander at the same time. I'll be having chemo some time after that. Just wondered if anyone has any experience with waiting nearly four weeks from diagnosis for the surgery and opinions as to whether it's just better to have the masectomy only now and worry about reconstruction later?
Thanks
Hi ladies
My name is Amanda and I stumbled across this group on my first visit to bcna site that my breast nurse told me to check out so thanks for letting me be part of the group. I am 32 and was diagnosed in august. Have had double mastectomy in sept, with full auxiliary clearance and tissue expanders inserted... Worst decision I ever made so far, so much pain!
sue-g
Hi,
Just been diagnosed with triple negative DCIS and invasive [both stage 3] got my port-a- cath put in on Tuesday night and start chemo next Thursday.
What/when and whatever do I expect next?
Portacath tomorrow - Chemo soon
Heading in to have Portacath inserted tomorrow - have been told that it makes Chemo a lot easier. I certainly hope so.
My Oncologist wanted to start chemo next Monday, but the surgeon has said no as I still have too much fluid build up in the surgical site, so it will be another week or 2 away. I am both glad and sad about the delay as I am not looking forward to the treatment, but I am also sad as I want the treatment to start asap because of how cancer cells can hide and spread through the blood - sneaky bastards.
